Updated: May 12
It’s been a busy month at Augnet, with a focus on recruiting, on-boarding new team-members and advancing our funding and grant applications. As we approach March, the activities will shift towards the implementation of our 1st client. This year promises to get more and more exciting as it progresses. Our 1st major milestone achievement is anticipated towards the end of April. Watch this space!
Our engineering team has grown! 3 engineers are starting 4th of March, all of which have previously worked with Andy. Their respective specialist areas are Android Operating System, Java micro-service for our messaging infrastructure and Web-based SPA skills such as ReactJS for the Dashboard. This team will drive our development efforts forwards with an aim to complete our initial roadmap release in the next 6 months. Over this time, we will also continue to expand the team to add velocity to our roadmap and allow us to integrate into a wider number of partners.
Product, Roadmap and Funding updates
Owing to our new CTO ability to recruit some of his past team members, and due to successful funding round being closed shortly - we were able to accelerate our roadmap quite considerably. Details are available upon request.
1. H2020 grant
Horizon 2020 is the EU funding programme for research and innovation. It is running from 2014 to 2020 with a €80 billion budget. It provides research and innovation funding for multi-national collaboration projects as well as for individual researchers and supports SMEs with a special funding instrument. For more information on Horizon 2020, please see the H2020 web site. Augnet has applied for H2020 grant on the 13th of February.
2. Innovate UK grant
Innovate UK is part of UK Research and Innovation, a non-departmental public body funded by a grant-in-aid from the UK government. For more information visit UK Research and Innovation’s website. Augnet intends to apply for this grant by 24 March.
3. Funding round
The current round will be closed by the end of March. Final discussions are being held with Angel investors and a number of VCs. Our main focus has shifted away from cash-only angels, and towards high-impact/ strategic Angels and VCs. We would like to express our gratitude to our Angels for their confidence in Augnet. The commitments received from our angels has been of a higher average value than what is considered typical.
Conferences and events
We’re pleased to announce that Augnet CEO Daniel Gill has attended this year’s MWC (Mobile World Congress) event in Barcelona on 25-28 February. With mobile’s latest innovations and technological advances on show from more than 2,400 companies, and with 107,000 industry leaders in attendance. This was a key platform for building relationships and bringing the word about Augnet to a larger audience. We were meeting some of the larger OEMs, Operating system owners and linking it back to the key technology of Augnet.
